One of the trends I’ve been absolutely loving this summer is satin lace shorts. I’ll admit, they can be a bit tricky to style—there’s always that lingering risk of looking like you’re wearing pajamas (and not in the cute, intentional way). Between the flimsy elastic waistbands and the “just rolled out of bed” vibe, I definitely had my reservations. Regardless, I can’t get them off my mind, and I’ve been on a mission to find the perfect pair that feels elevated rather than underdressed.
In my opinion, for this trend to really work, you need a few key elements: a decent length (enough coverage without going full Bermuda), a design that doesn’t scream “sleepwear,” and fabric that stays relatively wrinkle-free throughout the day.
After plenty of scrolling and window shopping, these are my current favorites:

Open Edit (Nordstrom): These have popped up in almost every roundup I’ve seen, and for good reason. They have a sturdy waistband, and the price point is unbeatable.

Fern Shorts from Reformation: These are at the top of my list because of the straight waistband in the front, which looks so much more polished. I’m especially partial to the green color.

ALC: This pair would be my number one pick if not for the price. They are stunning, and as usual, you get what you pay for!

LyreBird Heirloom Lace-Trim Shorts from Anthropologie: A fantastic option with slightly more length than most. These feel appropriate for semi-corporate events or a dressier lunch.

DISSH: I haven’t loved most of the cream-colored options I’ve found, but this pair is the exception. The quality and tone are just right.
What do you think of this trend?
That’s all for now.
xoxo,
